Donald Trump has shared his thoughts about his meeting with Volodymr Zelensky - urging both sides to "make a deal". Posting on Truth Social, the US President said: "The meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine was very interesting, and cordial, but I told him, as I likewise strongly suggested to President Putin, that it is time to stop the killing, and make a DEAL!" Mr Trump made no mention of the fact that it was Russia who invaded Ukraine more than three years ago.
Mr Zelensky earlier sought to tempt Mr Trump to supply Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles by floating the idea of a reciprocal deal which would see his country share pioneering drone technology with the United States. Mr Trump hosted Mr Zelensky for talks at the White House - the day after the US President had what he called a "productive" phone conversation with Russian leader Putin.
