Robin Hood has just started airing on MGM+ and the latest adaptation follows Rob (played by Jack Patten) and Marian during their early years.
Before Rob earned his famous moniker, he was a young 24-year-old trying to find his way in life.
Similarly, Marian is introduced as a young child - an inexperienced, innocent girl who grows into a woman who finds her own voice.
The star behind Marian is Lauren McQueen, a 29-year-old actress from Liverpool whose first acting role was in the BBC miniseries, Good Cop.
Her breakthrough came when she joined the cast of Hollyoaks as Lily Drinkwell in 2017 - a role which earned her two British Soap Awards.
Her character was involved in a relationship with Prince McQueen (Malique Thompson-Dwyer), as well as a self-harming storyline stemming from a car crash.
The show worked with four charities - The Mix, Mind, NSPCC and Samaritans - on the harrowing storyline, which went on to explore group self-harm.
The storyline won Best Storyline and Best Single Episode in the British Soap Awards 2018 and Lauren decided to leave the soap the following year to pursue new opportunities.
Her character was killed off after her mental health worsened and she died from sepsis after a self-harm relapse.
After leaving Hollyoaks, she went on to star in Belgravia: The Next Chapter and Outlander: Blood of My Blood.
She opened up about her latest role in Robin Hood and what it was like working with her co-stars, like Sean Bean as the Sheriff of Nottingham.
She said: "I was so excited to work with him. He brings that extra level to the show and the Sheriff. He is so down to earth and such a normal guy.
"We had a nice conversation about Liverpool when we first met. He had done a TV show there, it was nice to relate to him in that way. I learnt so much from watching him on set."
She said Marian "came to her naturally" during some self-tapes, adding: "I was ready to put my own stamp on Marian."
The star also praised newcomer Jack Patten as Robin Hood, sharing: "From the moment that Jack and I met, we clicked. It was such a fun, final audition. It was clear to us both that we were right for the roles. It felt very exciting."
