According to TikTok cleaning influencer Luke Arnel-Cameron, owner of Yass Clean, there's one item that can help to tackle dust in your place. Dust is "a mix of skin cells, fabric fibres, pollen, [and] pet fluff", Luke told Express.co.uk.
And, unfortunately, "you can see a light layer forming again within 24 to 48 hours, especially in rooms with a lot of foot traffic or fabric". Luke asserted: "It's a never-ending battle, but with the right tools, you can keep it at bay." For skirting boards, Luke recommended a "dryer sheet" that "works wonders" to prevent dust from sticking in the first place.
He clarified: "For skirting boards and under beds, a soft mop head or dryer sheet works wonders.
"I even like to rub a little Yass Clean fabric softener on baseboards; it smells lush and adds a tiny anti-static layer so dust slides right off."
But when it comes to dusting the rest of the home, there's seemingly an order to things.
Luke explained: "Go top to bottom. Start with shelves, then work your way down; otherwise, you're just redecorating your floors in beige fluff."
He added: "Keep windows closed on windy days, wash bedding weekly, and use a damp microfibre cloth instead of a dry duster; dry dusting just spreads it around.
"Oh, and don't forget to clean your vacuum filter... it can't suck up dust if it's full of it!"
Luke said: "For TVs and glass, use an anti-static cloth or a touch of fabric softener mixed with water to help stop dust clinging."
Once you've dusted, Luke suggested spritzing "a bit of YASS Clean - our scents linger beautifully, which makes your space smell fresh and help to discourages dust from settling as quickly".
